RIDES

The area around Reno/Sparks is a wonderland of lofty mountain ranges, arid desert basins, lush alpine meadows and sparkling lakes connected by thousands of miles of dirt roads and trails. Exploring it on a dual sport can be one of life’s most enjoyable and exciting experiences.

The Dust Devils have many scheduled and impromptu outings each year. Scheduled rides are led by a member who scouts the route, chooses a meeting location and publishes a ride description. These usually last for most of the day and are open to all club members.

Impromptu rides occur spontaneously when someone puts it out there... “Who wants to go riding?” The group decides when and where to meet and mutually agrees on a route.

Past Rides and Events

DDMC Gigantic Nevada Adventure RideFriday, May 03, 2013at 10 Day Adventure Ride Around Northern Nevada
Al Lockett Reno ExpoFriday, April 05, 2013at RSCC
The Reno Off-Road & Motorsports Expo and the Reno Boat & Recreation, Travel & Vacation Shows both have everything for the outdoor and off-road enthusiast—from snowshoes to magnificent RV’s and recreational vehicles, from winches and travel racks to some of the coolest off-road rigs. The Reno Expo is held every year at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and is produced by Lockett Shows. Not just one show, but four great shows, all in one location. The Reno Expo includes the Reno Off-Road & Motorsports Expo, the Boat & Recreation, Travel & Vacation Show, the Reno Spring Home & Garden Show, and the Reno Pet Show and Pug Parade and is a popular event developed to bring Northern Nevadan’s together with local businesses and their dedicated owners.
The Off-Road community will love getting the dirt on the latest in off-road gear and off-road vehicles.
This is where we come in, And I mean we as a club to man a booth and pitch the Land use issues, our club and the Ride Reno 200. So I am calling all members for help to man the booth and help setting up and tear down of the booth. We will have static displays and video running that will need to be watched and handouts handed out and information explained, but in all it’s really a lot of fun. You are not chained chain to the booth, and will be able to enjoy the show as well. Gary has more than generously offered his time as well, and I will be there most of the time as well.
If you would like to help out, get ahold of Gary or Aaron.

For the ride back to the Winnemucca Lake camp we can stop and do the Hot Springs at Frog Pond.  Total distance for this ride will be about 100 miles.  I will lead other rides to other scenic places during the Week and Weekend.

DDMC Get Acquainted Ride (9am)Saturday, March 16, 2013at Estate Blvd-Golden Valley
This is going to be a mixed ride of adventure bikes, Dual Sport A loop and Dual Sport B loop starting from Estates Blvd. and eventually ending up in the Moon Rocks area for a BBQ area and hence getting acquainted with each other. Dean will be leading the adventure loop and big bikes for a longer and more scenic tour of the north western area of Red Rock and Gary will be heading the Challenging A loop and Single track loop members. The B loop will be more laid back and take less challenging or training loop to the destination for lunch.
Gary will be setting up his trailer in the Moon Rocks area and we will be BBQing for lunch and this is your chance to get to know your fellow members and for the new members to get to know the older members and vice versa.  Learn who is who and get some riding buddies out of this. Bring plenty of water, and snacks as this may be the first long ride for many of you for this year, and we need to ease into it, and I don’t want any injuries. With that, please make sure to go with the group your feel comfortable with.
With that said, Estates Blvd, March 16, 2013 9am Clutches out 9:30 so we can have a good two hours at the lunch stop or more. If you are unsure where Estates Blvd. is or need to stage gas, contact Dean, Aaron or Gary. No Plates needed. Non-members Welcome (but do need to sign waivers). am
