Some further history on Death Valley and how it got its name. I mentioned to the other guys that the canyon behind Ballarat (Pleasant Canyon) leads to the top of a ridge and that a plaque sits up there in honor of William Manley and a guy named Roger that came that way to get help for stranded 49’ers in the valley to the east.
Pictures of the 2014 DDMC trip to Ballarat and up Pleasant Canyon. The plaque is shown in one pic.
