Some further history on Death Valley and how it got its name. I mentioned to the other guys that the canyon behind Ballarat (Pleasant Canyon) leads to the top of a ridge and that a plaque sits up there in honor of William Manley and a guy named Roger that came that way to get help for stranded 49’ers in the valley to the east.
