Hey everyone, I’m starting to think about the riding season and this summer I definitely want to go for a somewhat long (5-7 days) ride somewhere…. I don’t have a destination nailed down yet but some options are the new OBDR or maybe toward jarbidge or even along the sierras south if the snow ever melts….It would be a camp off the bike ride, maybe a hotel mid ride would be nice if that is possible but not necessary. Dates are also flexible at this point, it’s early. I don’t get to meetings so I wanted to throw this out there in case any of you are thinking similar thoughts…I’d even go for that Giant loop rally in Crane hot springs but it’s kinda expensive…but if a group were going i’d be in….
Many of you may not know me so I will let you know that I ride a 1290r and I like to keep a “spirited pace” on the trail. I have done many bike trips, it’s my very favorite thing to do. I like to ride in small groups, and whenever available, follow the line on the gps….I went on the Crater lake ride with Dean and Co. and got to experience having a support trailer, that was awesome!! I’m 54 and live in Reno and work in Truckee as a carpenter and more….reach out to me if any of this sounds good, maybe a short trip north for raviolis would be a fun way to get to know you guys when the sun starts to shine for real…..braaap!
Hi, I am interested in bike camping this summer. I don’t know if my little Versys can keep-up with your big bike. We should do some shorter rides to find out? I am new to the club. I currently ride a Versys X 300 and a KLX 300. My experience is mostly solo riding on fire roads in Dog Valley and around Lake Tahoe. Thanks for posting.
thanks for replying guys, i won’t be able to make the Baja trip, have fun!!
thanks Eric, not sure if our horsepowers mesh but i’m game to find out….
I’ve narrowed my summer ride down to the OBDR in Oregon, I really want to go in August or September, probably leave on a Saturday and return the following Sunday, 5-6 days to get north and the rest to get back…mostly camping.
Meanwhile waiting for snow to melt, best wishes to all
