I THINK WE SHOULD CANCEL THE BLACK ROCK PLAYA CAMP & RIDE TRIP SINCE THE CAMPING AREA IS WITHIN THE BLMs Burning Man Phase to restricked area till September 23, 2022. They kept the restricted area enforcement in effect for the playa cleanup.
I cannot think of another camping spot in the area that would be suitable….any suggestions??
Past the 12-miles access and on Soliders Meadow Rd. is an area outside the restricted area and could be used?
Here is a possble camp outside the restricted area(You can drive thru “Restricted Area” but cannot camp or stop.
Temperature for the weekend will be harsh and limit us to morning riding.
I wouldn’t mind if we moved the date to later in the month or even to after the Reno to the Pacific ride. It would be great riding up there as the temps go down a bit. I rode up there in late July with triple-digit temperatures and the heat limits the amount of riding you can do safely. You would think it would be cooler in September, but this year it’s not. Just my $.02.
Rides: KLR650, KX250

If you postpone this due to heat, the Nevada County Woods Riders (Grass Valley) will be having a black rock trip 16 to 17. I plan to be there then as this weekend I’ll be in Colorado.
Yes, we cancelled the camp & ride at the Playa last night at the DDMC meeting. Will reschedule for later this year.
Where are you meeting the Grass Valley club for there Black Rock Ride. The Burning Man playa restrictions are in effect till Sept 23, for the post burning man cleanup. I do not believe they will allow camping within the restricted area??
