Greg RParticipant“You just have to trust the rider in front of you.”
WTF…really!? What if I have trust issues…wahhh wahhh…just kidding!
Sounds interesting. I’ll plan to be there on my DR650 (aka “Elvira”).

Dave GModeratorIt’s right about 60. Maybe bring a quart along just in case.

ParticipantA couple of us are going to start at Johnson Lane, where the Dirtwise training was held. We’ll then meet the main group at the Brunswick, Canyon interchange.
We’ll meet about 830AM with kickstands up at 9AM.

ParticipantI will meet you at Johnson Lane around 8:00. This may be a better option for riders coming from the south or riders who prefer a shorter ride.

ParticipantSounds good Dennis. I’ll see you there unless it’s pouring down rain!!

Kurt138ModeratorHey guys,
Greg and Eric asked about an alternate route south of the Carson River from Churchill back to Dayton. Chris W. and I rode just such a track last month. The track was good – I would give it a B ride ranking. It has some fun, easy up and down climbs near Dayton through the Junipers. Going westbound you would pick up the trail in Adrian Valley, then go up Bull Canyon and past the Hercules Mine. There is a section of less than a mile with loose, baby head rocks after Bull Canyon – going westbound that section is a gentle downhill.
I made a map for this ride that takes part of the 2025 RR200 B route from Carson City to Yerington, then returns back to Dayton via Bull Canyon. The Bull Canyon route is much better than returning to Dayton via Fort Churchill Road IMHO.
Here is a screenshot of the complete route:
The total distance of this route is 114 miles. The distance from the trailhead to Yerington (Bridge Street) is 54 miles.
I attached the GPX file to this post also.
Unfortunately, after all that I won’t be able to go on the ride this weekend. I found an open ground buried in my dual sport kit wiring harness. I’ve got no front turn signals or rear brake light. I need to remove the harness and take it apart to replace the bad wire. Saturday is my only day open to do it, so no ride for me.
