RenoDeanoParticipantHere are some pics & Vids from Wayne and my trip to Mina (Me’nuh) a few weeks ago—much mud and snow. Wayne and I will make another trip in 26.

Kurt138ModeratorHey Wayne, my research has shown that Mina is a forgotten wasteland in the middle of nowhere.
It’s perfect for us!

raceu2ParticipantLOL My plan is to do a different location every year so we don’t get bored with one spot. The price is right on this spot.
Remember the RV park starts taking reservations In March The 5th they said but I would call on the 1st. It’s a three hour drive to Mina from reno.December 16, 2025 at 9:13 am #6287

RenoDeanoParticipantThanks, Dave. Those will be useful. I have a Mina Trails book, but it is hard to fathom the trails.

The only problem with Memorial Day weekend is that some locations may still be too snowed up (like Mammoth).
If you guys go back down to Mina could you drop a pin where you are planning to setup our base camp? That will help with ride planning.
If most of the trails are to the west (Thunder Mountain) then it would be better to put the base camp near there, and the same if most of the trails are to the east (Pilot Peak). Either way, I would prefer to be far away from Highway 95. I doubt anyone wants to hear trucks rolling by all night.

raceu2ParticipantThis is the proposed camp site. 2 miles from the Highway. As far as which side East or West it really doesn’t matter. The better sand wash’s
are to the East, trails are just about any direction. But mostly East and West.https://maps.app.goo.gl/wyZd2HfgiVWidRUG8
This site has the best access and is marked on OnX as a camp.

Dave GModeratorGood thing somebody marked it. We’d never find that flat spot hidden by all the other flat spots.

raceu2ParticipantNot as many flat spots as it appears on Google maps

raceu2ParticipantSome tracks. Dean and I have ridden these. If you have looked at the Mina area you know there are lots of areas to explore.
Cabin-under-rock 73 miles
This track is not adventure bike friendly. the first part leading to Hwy 360 is 2track, disappearing track and bush whack. The part leading to the cabin can be difficult coming out on the 2 switch backs because of loose rock. This is a all day trip. You can come in from the Garfield flat road which is a easy scenic ride to Marietta with some challenges along the way nothing to extreme. Take Hwy 360 back to camp.
simon-lead-mine 23 miles
Mina-mine-loop 17 miles
These two tracks can be done in a day. Some sand but nothing too hard. Big bike friendly. The side spurs lead to cabins and minesFebruary 20, 2026 at 2:41 pm #6728Eric Larsen
ModeratorThanks for the update, but did you find any GOLD?
