Hey, who would like to ride out to the Poker Flat ghost town for moto-camping? I am thinking July 22nd (Saturday). It is about 100 miles from Reno on and off road. I posted a approximate route. I have never been there, but I would really like to checkout the Mountain House Rd. to Goodyears Bar near HWY 49. From Downieville, there is a road called Saddleback that leads right to Poker Flat. From Poker Flat, continuing North, it’s about 2 hours to Quincy. This should be an interesting trip. Let me know what you think.
We will meet at the Verdi Chevron at 9:45am (Saturday July 22nd)
We will be passing through Quincy, Portola and Sierraville on the way back for a Lunch stop!

I won’t have my new bike ready for offroad riding in June. I’m guessing the route may be challenging with some snow to work through?
I found this video of Jeeps on the Poker Flat Trail. The video indicated that the river crossing was tricky for the Jeeps, even though it was quite low when they crossed it.
Hey Andy, its a OHV campsite, so you need an off-road vehicle to get there. (Check out the video Kurt found on Youtube, to see what the trail looks like).
