Pictures that I took at this link. Dean will have more. I only remembered to take pictures sporadically and I think they are out of order.
Saturday 10/8 we took off from Bordertown. Dean, Paul and I on dirt. Dave K on the street. We took Long Valley to Henness Pass to Nevada City. Then slabbed it to Williams.
Sunday we headed from Williams through Stoneyford headed for Willits. Just outside of Fouts Springs Paul hit a small deer. Lots of hunters about but Paul beat them to it. Paul seemed no worse for wear at the time. From Soda Creek I wanted to try a shortcut to Tomki road but it was blocked by a large gate. Looked good on the internet but private property is private property. So we headed down to Potter Valley where we got some excellent tacos from a roadside stand. We then changed course and headed to Ukiah to take the pavement through Comptche. On the way we ran into Rick, Robby and Cory who were doing the ride all street.
All 7 of us met up in Fort Bragg Sunday night at the Motel 6.
Monday morning we headed up highway 1 to Usal Road. Rick and his crew had left before us. We caught up with them when Rick had a little electrical problem. Eventually they got going. Dean and I took Usal while Paul and Dave K took the slab. Paul was a little sore after his collision with the deer. We met up with everyone in Fortuna.
Tuesday we took a different route from Fortuna to Covelo via Alterpoint and Zenia. Then from Covelo to Willows and down I 5 to Williams for the night. Great riding. Lots of twisty beat up asphalt and some really nice dirt roads. Dean had a flat which we screwed around with for longer than necessary. We ended up at the hotel about 9.
Wedesday was pretty uneventful. Slab back to Reno. Highway 20. We stopped at a motorcycle shop in Yuba to get tubes. Nice place. Good prices on bikes. Extreme prices on tires. Then we slabbed it on home.
Overall this was a great ride. We changed up the route from what we planned quite a bit and everything worked out great. Lots of great dirt and great asphalt.
