Hey Dean, I’ve been to The Joint and it is a nice little ride there on dirt from our campsite.

In case anyone else is interested, I’m hoping to check out Ridgecrest Cycle Park one of the days while we’re down there. It’s about 20 minutes from Wagon Wheel in Ridgecrest. It looks like a legit MX track with some big jumps.

Hey Dean,

I think the weather will be pretty good there. I compared the weather forecasts for Reno and Ridgecrest using a couple different sources. The forecasts are probably not too accurate since we are 5 days out, but I am seeing that Ridgecrest will be 15-20 degrees warmer than Reno next weekend:

Yahoo weather for Ridgecrest next weekend: Satuday 63, Sunday 54, Monday 51
MSN weather for Ridgecrest next weekend: Saturday 62, Sunday 59, Monday 56

Yahoo Weather for Reno: Saturday 46, Sunday 36, Monday 37
MSN weather for Reno: Saturday 45 (rain), Sunday 39, Monday 36

There is no rain forecast for Ridgecrest next weekend. It looks like we will only be in the 60s on Saturday though, and in the high 50s on Sunday and Monday.

(Thursday morning) Been checking road conditions down to Ridgecrest via 395 or 95/6 (to Benton & Bishop), and all are either currently closed or roads have snow and ice on them and require chains on vehicle and trailer. Will try and get out Friday morning.

Hwy 395 is closed NORTH of Lee Vining CA due to Avalanche concerns thru WEEKEND. I guess I will go down Friday morning to Carson City (fuel up) and out to Alt Hwy 95 (Silversprings) and South to Hwy 6 (to Benton and Bishop), and over to Hwy395 continuing south to Ridgecrest.

From my house in Sparks that only changes the travel time from 6 hours 34 minutes to 6 hours 52 minutes. Not a problem.
