ParticipantKurt,
I believe this has a slight conflict with Eric’s trail clean up from 8 – 12 noon. But for those so inclined they could help out in the morning then go practice in the afternoon, we are geographically close!

DennisOops!
I changed the date for this from May 2nd to May 9th.
I will be going to Eric’s trail cleanup as well.

ParticipantKurt, I plan to be there and may arrive a bit earlier toward 10:00ish….silver 2-door Jeep Wrangler pulling a 3-bike trailer. I’ll be riding my dirt bike and sporting my DDMC jersey!

ParticipantSaturday was a great training day. Kurt, Greg Rickard, Greg Flaig and I met up about 1015AM. There were three turn tracks on tap for the day. The first track had low, sandy berms making front tire placement the skill to work on. We all did warm-ups and we all got faster the more laps we did.
The bigger track was fast with high solid berms that made the line selection less critical. No corner blowouts if you didn’t get it right. some motocrossers were out on that track and they were flying.
The smallest and slowest track was the hardest in my opinion. No berms and the ruts were only a tire width wide. Front tire placement, body position and braking were all to be worked on. Needless to say that’s where I put the bike down. Luckly Kurt was close enough to help.
We then rode down to Moon Rocks to cool off. When we got back Jose showed up from a ride of his own. Many DDMC jerseys on display that day.
It was a great day and thanks to Kurt for setting it up.

Kurt138ModeratorExcellent summary Jason and well done to all the riders. Everyone noted that their tire placement, body positioning, comfort and speed in the turns improved throughout the day.
We all rode quite a few laps and it made for a pretty decent workout. I was cramping up a bit after I got home.
I should have some video – I’ll have a look tonight.

ParticipantKurt, thanks for organizing the turn track session. It was terrific seeing everyone riding and hanging with ya’ll in between sessions.
I played in the small sandbox all day.
It was a bit frustrating the first couple laps, but I started making small adjustments to my (lack of) technique and felt immediate results. My last lap felt far less sloppy than my first!
Maybe next time I’ll try playing in the bigger sandbox.
