Be sure to do this if you plan on riding in Utah. I’m sure other states will follow.
Attention all Non-Utah resident participants: As of January 1, 2023 the state of Utah will require ALL non-residents to purchase an OHV permit. Permits will NOT be sold at state parks; permits must be completed online at https://stateparks.utah.gov/activities/off-highway-vehicles/ part of the permit will be to complete an OHV education course (required education course can be found here). The permit and course will be available starting January 1, 2023. If you have any questions regarding the permit or process, you can reach out to Utah State Parks Department and Recreation. ‼
California has something similar. If you have a plate on your bike you are okay. I think side by sides need the sticker or a reciprocal state sticker. Not sure if NV reciprocates with CA.
In California you need to show your bike registration if you’re riding a non-plated bike. I suspect most NV riders have an OHV sticker, but they don’t have NV registration documents. I checked as I was thinking it would be fun to go down and ride Carnegie in the winter some time.
